Nearly 100 years of history

The Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home was once home to the Frank M. Reilly Funeral Residence. Frank Reilly and his wife lived upstairs over the funeral home along with their 3 children. Frank and Leo P. Gallagher were contemporaries and business friends for many years, and both began their businesses at about the same time, just prior to 1930. Both men were highly respected and loved in Stamford and Greenwich, and the 2 frequently shared ideas and progressive attitudes on how to serve the bereaved in their communities. 

As time went on, each of these 2 gentlemen passed their businesses on to their descendants. In order to continue the legacy of Reilly and Gallagher, it soon became obvious these 2 entities should merge. Leo P. Gallagher Jr. purchased the Reilly funeral firm, continuing the traditions of both families as Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home of Greenwich.
